Sunny September in the Sandpit

Weather-wise, September has been just fabulous up here in the Twin Cities - though we really could use some rain. We've been sure to get plenty of vitamin D outside each day. Although Noah loves to go to playgrounds, we also spend a lot of time in our neighborhood - walking, bicycling and just playing. With the housing market the way it is, our development has not been doing much developing, which has been nice for us in some ways. "Dragonfly Green", which is the official name of the green space that our house is built around, still has 7 empty lots around it. One of the empty lots has become the local sand pit for the kids. A sand pile was put there by a dump truck during the construction of one of the houses and the remnants of that sand became a fun place for the kids to play. Now when the dump truck driver comes by and has a little extra sand leftover, he kindly "tops off" the pile. He actually gets out of his truck, removes all the toys, dumps the sand, and then puts the toys back. Now that's really Minnesota Nice!
Playing with the knights is popular - especially burying them and then trying to find them.

Right now playing with my feet is more fun than digging in the sand!
