Kai Kai

It seems like I write a lot about what's going on with Noah, so here are some things about Kai. Phil and I both have gotten into the habit of calling him "Kai Kai". He is the sweetest little baby and is our mellow fellow. His neck is finally getting much stronger - the muscles on one side of his neck were initially weaker, so his head was usually slumped that way and he developed a bit of a flat spot on that side of his head. But after plenty of tummy time, his neck has evened out and his head is pretty much round. Last week, he rolled over from back to front for the first time...he had been working and working at it and finally accomplished the feat. Kai then repeated it several times in a row but would get a bit frustrated since one arm inevitably got stuck under him and he doesn't quite have the strength and coordination yet to pull it out. Kai had rolled from front to back about a month or so ago which I guess was easier for him. When we get Kai up from his crib after a nap now, he often is in a completely different spot than where we put him down. Recently, he has been getting his legs stuck in between the slats of his crib - he quickly lets us know that he needs rescuing. Kai loves to "talk", especially in the late afternoon and evening. Phil is particularly good at conversing with him and their back and forth babbling sounds so cute. Kai has been a big laugher since about 2 months of age. Again, Phil is the best at getting him to laugh - though if I wave my hair in his face and he is in the right mood, I can usually get some chuckles out of him. He smiles as soon as he gets a glimpse of us, which of course melts our hearts. And he is very interested in his big brother Noah. It's hard to remember what life was like without him!
