Glogg Party

Glogg is a necessary part of Christmas preparations as far as Ebba is concerned - it smells so good to have the pot of wine with spices (cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, orange peels, ginger, raisins) brewing on the stove for a week. This past Sunday, we had a crowd (about 40) of mostly neighbor friends over to sample this year's batch. Saturday was a busy day of preparations - meatballs, herring, salmon rolls, saffron bread, and a few more odds and ends. Kai was a bit under the weather with his very first cold and teething, so he cooperated by sleeping for long periods of the day. Phil got Noah out of the house (and out of my way!) for some sledding fun and hot buttered rum with other neighbors at a local park. (We've had a ton of 'smaller' snow storms these last few weeks, so the snow has really started to pile up.) Sunday was PERFECT for some warm glogg. There was a fresh blanket of snow and windchills around -30! By the end of the evening, not many drops of glogg remained and the basement playroom looked like a tornado had hit. Once again, Phil and I commented on what a great neighborhood we have landed in - everyone is super nice and fun to hang around with.
Perfect Weather!

We finally got our Christmas Tree!

The newest member of the neighborhood (7 weeks old) is passed around.
