Where do 2-year-olds get all their energy from? As I know I've mentioned now a few times, Noah has pretty much stopped taking naps, though I have not yet given up trying. Well, today I decided to see how exhausted I could get him. We dropped Phil off at the airport around 8 this morning for his football weekend. Since IKEA is right by the airport (about 40 minutes from our house), I decided that I wanted to pick up a few things there. But it didn't open until 10:00, so to make the time pass, I took the boys to the Mall of America which is also right there. All the stores were closed except for some of the restaurants and there were not many people around yet - perfect! I let Noah loose and ran after him for about an hour or so. Then off to IKEA to do some speed shopping, have a snack, then head home. Once home, we pulled on all our snow gear and went out into the balmy 37 degree weather (it felt like spring, compared to these last few frigid weeks!) and went sledding, walked around the neighborhood and also built a snowman. Kai was with us outside, bundled up and watching from a snug spot. After some lunch, we headed over to the Y, where Noah proceeded to run a mile with me on the indoor track. He did stop occassionally to watch a basketball game in progress or to ask what different machines were (the track goes around the weightlifting and aerobic equipment). And after all that, he STILL did not nap!!! I give up.

I cannot believe that he did not nap after all of that activity!!! It's clearly not due to your lack of effort...well, at least you can enjoy the early bedtime... :)
