Halloween

Just wanted to post a couple of Halloween pictures for the record. Noah was still on the recuperation path from his stomach virus, so it was a pretty low-key event which suited us just fine. We had borrowed an elephant costume from some friends for trick-or-treating. It was a beautiful and unusually warm evening by Minnesota standards - no winter coats needed so kids could really enjoy their costumes. Phil and Noah went up and down a couple of streets right around our house. When he came home, Noah was very excited about the treats that he had collected in his bucket (which will probably for the most part either disappear or be consumed by mom and dad). He was particularly fascinated by a lollipop which had a partial skeleton to hold onto instead of a stick. "Yucky - this is a quail bone!" he exclaimed. (Must come from one of his favorite books, "I Stink!", about a day in the life of a garbage truck - at one point the garbage truck makes alphabet soup and the ingredient for Q is quail bones.) Kai seemed perfectly content spending his first Halloween half-asleep in the baby carrier and will have to wait until next year for his first dress-up experience. Apparently there are some really fun things to do in downtown Bayport, so we'll have to try to hit those next year when the boys are a little bit bigger.

Heading out with daddy

Two scary neighbors!
