"Going Too Fast"

On Wednesday I had a particularly busy day when there was much to accomplish, including preparing dinner for two other families in need of some help. I was hoping that Noah would by some miracle cooperate and take a rare nap so I could focus on cooking, but of course that didn't happen. He went in his room for quiet time, which eventually grew so loud that I got him so that he wouldn't wake up Kai who was napping nicely next door. Feeling slightly stressed out that I wouldn't manage to pull off cooking all the food and delivering it before I had to go to my SWEA board meeting at 6:00 pm, I somewhat exasperatedly said to Noah, "This situation is just driving me nuts." (In my head, the situation I was referring to was of course Noah's non-napping.) He looked at me very seriously and said, "Mamma is going too fast. Slow down!!!!" I just had to smile at that!
