Parents Escape!
Phil and I finally took our very first solo trip since becoming parents! My very good college friend, Kerry, was getting married in Pittsburgh. Since my parents were able to stay and look after the boys before starting their long drive back to Savannah, the timing couldn't have been better. The boys were of course used to having my parents around after spending most of the month together, which helped a lot. Phil and I had a wonderful long weekend in Pittsburgh attending wedding events, going to the Carnegie Mellon Art Museum, visiting Frank Lloyd Wright's beautiful Fallingwaters, SLEEPING IN and going out to eat leisurely meals. Meanwhile, our absence did not seem to perturb the boys one bit. In fact, Kai slept 11-12 hours straight each night that we were gone! Flying back to Minneapolis, Phil and I started dreaming about our next trip......Though getting back to our boys was wonderful! Thanks to Mormor and Morfar for providing such top-notch babysitting - we'll definitely put you to work again in the future. Unfortunately I forgot to clean up my camera disk before heading to Pittsburgh and right after I took this picture of the groom, my disk was full and I forgot to bring an extra:
Kerry was a beautiful and happy bride and the ceremony and celebrations were so much fun to be a part of. We wish Kerry and Jamal a happy, healthy and long life together wherever in the world they end up!
