Last weekend we took the boys to "Day Out with Thomas" which involved a train ride and Thomas-related activities. This was Noah's first ever ride on a train, so we were curious to see how he would react, especially since it wasn't just any train. Turns out it wasn't quite as exciting as we thought it might be - he was quite subdued and serious during the ride on Thomas and seemed to prefer playing with the train tables and doing the other activities! It's funny, you never know how kids are going to react. Maybe the whole experience was just too overwhelming! Admittedly, it took almost longer to load the train than it actually took to go on the little ride. And the scenery that we passed by was not the most exciting - basically cornfields and dirt piles, not quite the picturesque vistas of the Island of Sodor. Noah had fun but he seemed perfectly happy to go when we decided it was time to head back home - no kicking, screaming, dragging back to the car that some other visiting parents had to contend with!
