Noah Starts Preschool

Last Monday was a big day around here - Noah's first day of preschool! Back in the spring, I had hoped that Noah would get a spot at the farm school I had visited, but we did not luck out in that lottery and he ended up on a long waiting list. The school he is going to is a parent run co-op that is in a cute little house in a residential neighborhood in Stillwater and seems to be a perfectly fine option. Noah was extremely excited and had helped select a backpack and folder to bring along. We dropped Kai off at a neighbor's house (parents were asked to stay the whole time on the first day) and headed over to the school, just a 10 minute drive from our house. When we arrived the kids were allowed to just roam around and play with whatever they wanted - Noah of course zeroed in on the blocks and wooden trains. It was a nice opportunity for me to chat with some of the other parents. Eventually, I was able to encourage Noah to explore some things in the other two rooms. Next it was time for a parent meeting while the kids had a snack. Finally, we all went outdoors for some outside time. The school has quite a sizable backyard with a really nice playset, a little wooden playhouse, slides and other play things as well as just space to run around. Unless the temperature goes below 0 degrees (either actual or windchill) or there is pouring rain, they go outside every single day which I think is wonderful. Noah had a great time and was happy when I told him he would get to come back tomorrow.
