Welcome Kai!

Today we welcomed our newest family member! Noah, completely oblivious to the events of the day stayed at home with mormor while Phil and Ebba left for the hospital mid-morning. The hospital was in a peaceful, residential neighborhood just 10 minutes from home. After answering an endless number of questions and getting an IV started, all we had to do was wait for things to get started in the OR. Other than a bit of an unprofessional encounter with the anesthesiologist, everything went smoothly and as expected. We are grateful to Dr. Weisberg for skillfully, quickly and safely delivering our beautiful son Kai. Kai William was born at 2:27 pm, weighing 9 pounds 6.5 ounces and measuring 21.5 inches long. Very similar in birth size to big brother Noah! It is something indescribable to meet your child for the first time - there simply are no words to explain the overwhelming emotions. After a brief stay in the recovery room, Ebba returned to her room and reunited with Phil and Kai and immediately started nursing. A few hours later, Phil ran home and brought back mormor and Noah for a visit. Noah was of course confused by the hospital environment but was very intrigued by "Baby Kai" who he has heard so much about, especially these last few months. What an incredible day!
